Appointment Pool

Millen Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated Education Assistants – Mainstream for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.

We seek enthusiastic team members who show initiative in adapting tasks to meet student needs, who continually reflect on their practice and who are open to being observed and receiving feedback to guide their professional growth. You will contribute advice and expertise; collaborating with staff to support and monitor student progress.

To be suitable for this role you will ideally possess strong people skills and the capacity to relate to staff, students and parents. Suitable applicants should also be highly collaborative and willing to share their skills and expertise.

Located in East Victoria Park, Millen PS caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. In 2017 Millen PS became an Independent Public School. The school community welcomed the opportunities this provided to continue our strong focus on quality teaching in the classroom.

Our teaching team is highly motivated and professional and consists of classroom teachers and specialist teachers ranging from graduate and beginning teachers to experienced teachers. We offer programs in physical education, health, Japanese, music, and visual arts.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

Sound oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with students, parents and teaching professionals. Sound interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team. Sound organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective educational programs to students. Ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.
