We’re looking for a skilled Linesperson, Electrical Fitter Mechanic with line experience or Power Worker (Trade Assistant) to permanently join our team located in Quilpie.

Remuneration -

  • From $97,006 per annum + 12.75% Superannuation for an Electrical Fitter Mechanic or Linesperson.
  • From $85,164 per annum + 12.75% Superannuation for a Power Worker (Trade Assistant).

The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the applicant’s knowledge, skill and competencies required for the position.

Location Incentives -

  • Non-Urban Zone Allowance - up to $25,625 per annum.
  • Housing Allowance - up to $10,400 per annum.
  • Locality Allowance - up to $2,821 per annum.
  • Non-Urban Time Recognition Payments - $10,000 after 2 years and if you decide to stay on for 5, 10, 15 or even 20 years, we’ll pay you $15,000 at each milestone.

Plus, when you decide it’s time for a well-earned break, we’ll give you an additional 5 days of annual leave per year to assist with travel to and from your chosen holiday destinations.

And, if you don't currently live in this neck of the woods, we'll also chip in up to $5,000 relocation assistance to make the move just that little bit easier.

About the role:

As a Linesperson, you will:

  • Be trade qualified with a Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Linesperson.
  • Construct, maintain and repair overhead, high and low voltage electrical distribution and sub-transmission systems, street lighting mains and customer service lines.

As an Electrical Fitter Mechanic, you will:

  • Be trade qualified with a Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic licence.
  • Install, repair, commission and maintain various items of electrical equipment and plant.

As a Power Worker (Trade Assistant), you will:

  • Be a key contributor to the team, assisting our tradespersons with construction, maintenance and associated activities on our overhead and underground electrical networks.

About you:

Critical to your success in the role, is your:

  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relationships with team members and external customers. You must have the ability to identify and understand customer needs.
  • Ability to work safely at heights.
  • Availability for call out and emergency work.
  • Willingness to travel to surrounding areas from time to time to undertake work.
  • Current ‘C’ class open Drives Licence. 

Additionally, as a Power Worker, you will require:

  • Experience in safety observing and an ability to actively identify and implement risk control measures where needed.
  • Experience in material and stock handling.
  • The ability to safely work at heights.
  • Current High Risk Work Licence (forklift, dogman, rigger, EWP >11m, VLC, slewing crane).
  • Current Heavy Rigid (HR) licence.

You will be required to complete a pre-employment medical or respond to pre-employment medical questions as part of the selection process.
