 Fixed Term 12 month contract, Full Time (37.5 hours per week) HEW0808 | $107k – $123k plus 17% superannuation contributions Periodic salary increases between 1 July 2024 to 1 July 2026 totalling a 10% increase

Our Team

Join our dynamic Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Team within our People and Culture Office at Murdoch University and play a vital role in fostering a culture of safety, injury management, and overall wellbeing. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make meaningful impact on the entire Murdoch University community, including workers (employees and contractors), students, and visitors.

Your opportunity to join us

As our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor, you’ll be a key contributor to our Health Safety and Wellbeing team. Your mission will be to foster a culture of safety and wellbeing across our university community. Your role will be crucial in developing and implementing comprehensive contractor management procedures to ensure the health, safety and overall wellbeing of all personnel involves in our projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

Develop and execute effective strategies and protocols for contractor management,Conduct thorough planning and risk assessments to safeguard health and safety,Establish and maintain robust systems to monitor and oversee contractor activity,Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices; and,Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements and facilitate reporting; and,Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate and broadcast vital information.

What you’ll bring to this role

A qualification in occupational safety and health or relevant WHS knowledge with a willingness to undertake training.Experience as a project lead in a large organisation.Understanding of compliance for contractor management.At least 2 years’ experience in safety and/or injury management in a similar role.Experience in working with safety for facilities management/property would be beneficial.Strong communication skills with all levels of management and workers.
