About the Anaesthesia Research Department

The Department of Anaesthesia at Austin Health provides anaesthesia services in 26 operating theatres across the Austin and Repatriation campuses. 

The Department of Anaesthesia has a strong record of research output and its research achievements span a broad range of activities including advances in applied physiology and pharmacology, innovations in patient care and monitoring, and conduct of large investigator initiated clinical trials. The Department has made significant contributions to recruitment for several past and current major national and international multi-centre trials in anaesthesia and perioperative medicine.   

About the role

The Research Coordinator role is located within the Anaesthesia Department, collaborating with the medical and nursing team to coordinate clinical trial research activities.

A regular day will see you:

  • Screening, consenting and randomising patients 
  • Collectiing and entering data as per trial protocols
  • Liaising with patients and their families, hospital healthcare professionals, trial management teams
  • Maintaining HREC and governance regulatory approvals
