Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Liaison Librarian to join Library, Education Portfolio, Academic Division.

Liaison Librarians are a critical link between QUT Library, the University and internal and external client groups, working closely with internal partners including academic and professional staff to ensure that programs and resources are aligned with the University’s purpose of providing transformative education and research relevant to our communities. They provide a high-quality information service to QUT Library clients and are responsible for initiating, planning and delivering programs that enhance QUT Library services.

The appointee will be responsible for liaising and building relationships with academic and professional staff in the Oodgeroo Unit, the Carumba Institute, the Faculty of Indigenous Knowledges and Culture, the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice and with stakeholders across QUT..

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a degree in Library Science or Information Management with at least four years’ subsequent relevant experience.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to foster and maintain effective relationships and negotiate successful outcomes with key stakeholders to achieve organisational goals in an academic or research environment.
  3. High level digital literacy with demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective and relevant information literacy and research skills resources and programs. 
  4. Demonstrated ability to acquire and apply knowledge of discipline specific information resources, and collaborate effectively with library and academic stakeholders in the development of relevant library collections.
  5. Demonstrated initiative, innovation and ability to successfully undertake a leadership and/or coordination role in relation to a Library service or project.
  6. Demonstrated ability to collaborate, mentor others, and work effectively as a member of a team.
