Our client, a large complex Utilities organisation, are currently seeking an experienced Cyber Security Business Analyst who will be responsible for supporting the delivery of their cyber security capability improvement project of works.

The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing the security posture of their existing applications and developing effective remediation strategies to enhance overall cyber resilience. The successful candidate will likely move into the next phase of the program which is expected to run for 3 years.

This role has the following accountabilities:

  • Application Assessment: Conduct in-depth investigations of our current application landscape to identify potential security vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Security Control Evaluation: Collaborate with the project team to assess the adequacy of existing security controls for each application and recommend necessary enhancements.
  • Remediation Strategy Development: Develop comprehensive remediation plans that address identified security gaps and align with our cyber security objectives.
  • Data Recording and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of assessment findings, remediation strategies, and progress reports to ensure accountability and transparency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and security experts.

Our client, a large complex Utilities organisation, are currently seeking an experienced Cyber Security Business Analyst who will be responsible for supporting the delivery of their cyber security capability improvement project of works.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and security experts.
  • Analysis of As Is and To Be: Documents highly complex 'as is' and 'to be' processes within the context of ICT projects and in alignment with the Digital & Information project and program management framework. Accurately describe and document the changes required to implement the projects 'to be' capability.
  • Requirements Management:Plan and coordinate at the project level, the identification and elicitation of requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals. Conduct analysis of those requirements for completion and alignment, document and manage the requirements throughout the life of the project. Coordinate the verification of the end solution against the documented business requirements.
  • Feasibility Studies: Using critical, analytical thinking, conducts complex feasibility studies from a technological perspective for the costing and appraisal of new investments and existing initiatives. Document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure.
  • Solutions Analysis: Identify and evaluate complex business requirements and research application of information system solutions to optimise our customers business outputs. Research and recommended variations to policy and procedural matters that could affect the efficient operation of the recommended solution.
  • User Experience Analysis: Determines the approaches required to analyse and design existing business processes and future business processes, within the context of an information system solution, identifying stakeholder groups that would be impacted by change. Plans and drives user experience and accessibility analysis activities providing expert advice and guidance to support adoption of agreed approaches.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manages strong working relationships with Digital & Information colleagues, customers across the organisation and external stakeholders to drive the successful delivery of projects. Facilitates effective communication channels by arranging meetings, workshops and associated supporting materials to understand stakeholder needs, issues, and concerns. Promotes the successful adoption of change with all stakeholder groups, fostering relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following knowledge and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering cyber security capability improvement initiatives in line with recommended frameworks.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within a Cyber Security or IT environment.
  • Strong understanding of cyber security principles, frameworks (e.g., Essential 8), and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.

This daily rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading.
