We are looking for a Senior Editor & Content Producer to help us demonstrate our leading expertise and build our brand across a variety of formats and channels on a 12-month contract with the potential for permanency.

Working as part of the marketing team, this role will see you partnering with Nous’ Principal consultants to develop content on the biggest issues faced by senior executives, academic leaders and policy makers.

The successful candidate will be a brilliant communicator and intellectually agile storyteller who has an eye for what makes compelling long form, video, social and audio content. Someone who knows how to unearth and draft insightful content from across a variety of sources, is capable of coaching and influencing senior leaders, and who has a strong interest and grasp of the big challenges we face today – from decarbonisation, balancing performance and purpose in business, to the rising demand for care and support services, Closing the Gap, the future of Higher Education or intergenerational equity.

The role will involve:

  • Thought leadership production. Partnering with Principals to produce compelling, evidence-based thought leadership.
  • Coaching existing and emerging thought leaders within the business. Working in partnership with Nous’ most senior and sought-after experts to help shape their thinking and bring their expertise to life in new and creative ways.
  • Thought leadership strategy. Evolving Nous’ approach to thought leadership so that the experience and insights we develop and the way they are packaged and distributed has maximum impact in the market.
  • Content pipeline management. Working across sectors groups and countries to ensure we have a strong pipeline of content for delivery across all channels (web, social, podcast, video).
  • Project storytelling. Maturing our approach to how we bring our project work to life for clients through case studies, stories, social content and more.
  • Content design. Work with digital and animation designers on new channel-specific content formats.
  • Content Strategy.
  • Editorial and content support. Work with others in the marketing team to support the business on any ad-hoc content, communications and editorial requests as required.

Experience and capabilities required:

  • Outstanding editorial and content production skills – researching, interviewing, data analysis, writing, recording, editing - as demonstrated through previous senior roles in journalism, media or professional services marketing.
  • Experience working in partnership with senior professional, with demonstrated ability to influence desired outcomes.
  • Experience creating compelling stories, articles and other content that achieves high audience engagement.
  • A proven track record of innovation in content, and the ability to bring stories to life through various formats and channels.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with competing stakeholders and timeframes through strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding and interest in current affairs and economic and societal trends and events and their implications for the clients we work with.
  • The willingness to work with a distributed team across Australia, Canada and the UK.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in journalism, media communications or equivalent experience.
