About the role  

Working as part of Activ’s Property Care team, our supervisors spend their days leading through example, mentoring, inspiring, and working alongside a crew of people living with disability, in completing gardening, grounds maintenance, landscaping and site clean-ups, for long-established high-profile customers.

Our teams work from the locations below. Please choose which location(s) you would like to be considered for in your application form: 

  • Ashby – North Metro  
  • Maida Vale – East Metro  
  • East Victoria Park – South East Metro  
  • Beaconsfield – South Metro  

Our property supervisors typically work full time hours Monday to Friday and are paid $36.61 per hour (approx. $72,500 equivalent). Working for a not for profit also offers access to salary packaging options which could increase your take home pay by a further $9,700* a year.  

Duties include: 

  • Supervising and working with supported employees in gardening and grounds work for commercial contracts like mowing, pruning, weeding, whipper snipping, planting and leaf blowing. 
  • Supporting employees in learning and developing skills that enable them to pursue their goals and aspirations. 
  • Ensuring safe work practices including the operation of equipment. 
  • Maintaining records on attendance, job sheets and machine maintenance. 

What you need: 

  • Great attitude towards working with people living with disabilities. 
  • A strong work ethic and self motivation. 
  • Happy to work in the great outdoors doing physical work. 
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.  
  • A passion for providing guidance and motivation and getting the best out of people. 
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety practices. 
  • Willingness to use your fully insured and registered, private vehicle (aligned with Activ’s motor vehicle allowance rebate).
  • Being handy with tools, and having a horticulture, landscaping, gardening or trade background is considered beneficial, but not essential.
