WORK LOCATION: St Vincent's Private Hospital, Darlinghurst NSW

The main objective of this position is to provide a Total Gas Service (TGS) to AIR LIQUIDE Healthcare contracted hospitals in the State.

An important function of this role is the distribution and allocation of cylinders to hospitals and their relevant cost centers. In addition, the role also is required to educate customers/hospital staff on the safe handling of gas cylinders. This role has a strong impact and contributes significantly to the company image in relation to the quality of service provided in association with medical gases.

This position reports to the Medical Gas and Hospital Services Coordinator and is mainly based at St Vincent's Private Hospital, Darlinghurst NSW.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

  • WORK LOCATION: St Vincent's Private Hospital, Darlinghurst NSW

  • Report and liaise with the Medical Gas and Hospital Services Coodinator, responsible for TGS to contracted hospitals

  • Work with the Medical Gas and Hospital Services Coordinator to ensure adequate resources are available to provide a quality total gas services to all contracted hospitals

  • Check and ensure accuracy of records in relation to delivery/return of ALH gas cylinders to and from the contracted hospital. Conduct regular cylinder audits at contracted hospitals and report outcomes to customer service in a timely manner

  • Coordinate and deliver cylinders to the point of use within contracted hospitals

  • Manage & maintain appropriate stock levels of cylinder & related equipment in hospital wards and gas storage areas

  • Monitor cylinder gas usage within hospital wards and laboratories and replace cylinders on gas manifolds as required

  • Comply at all times with ALH Company policies and procedures, MSDS instructions and other safety instructions provided by the direct Manager. More generally, comply with all policies and regulations applicable to the role

  • Comply also with safe work procedures and processes applicable in the contracted hospital. When possible, participate in safety initiatives for the hospital

  • Liaise with hospital Staff on safety related and OH&S issues that may arise and educate hospital Staff on safe gas handling and storage

  • Other duties as required by the direct Manager

  • Conducting all activities in accordance with requirements of ALH's Quality Management System

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to solve practical problems and respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers

  • Ability to instruct, advise and educate hospital staff on operational and safety procedures for compressed gas and gas related products

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Reasonably fit: comfortable moving and picking up gas cylinders that range in weight from 10 to 15kg

We OFFER:

  • Casual role based in St Vincent's Private Hospital in Darlinghurst, 4 hours per day (8 hours per week) with flexibility in working hours (eg. 7am to 11am or 8am to 12pm); Mainly before noon

  • Shifts will be every Tuesday and Thursday
