THE ROLE: Civil Estimator

To be successful in the role, you must be able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar role, including the following:

Tender Review and Evaluation:
Review and evaluate tender documents, including drawings, design files, scope of works (SOW), bills of quantities (BOQ), technical specifications, and standards.

Cost Analysis:
Prepare a detailed cost analysis of the project.

Tender Documentation:
Prepare relevant tender documentation, including Quality/Safety/Environmental Management plans, erosion and sediment control plans, traffic management plans, methodologies, etc.

Risk Assessment:
Assess any risks associated with the works.

Material Take-Offs:
Prepare material take-offs.

Preliminary Construction Program:
Complete the preliminary construction program.

Supplier and Subcontractor Liaison:
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices.

Market Research:
Conduct market research to stay updated with the latest practices, technology, and innovations.

Team Collaboration:
Liaise with the project team to review tender proposals.

Tender Proposal Preparation:
Prepare and deliver tender proposals.

Timely Completion:
Ensure timely completion of cost estimates by due dates.

Cost Audits:
Conduct cost audits during project execution.

Meeting Attendance:
Attend site and internal meetings as required.

Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain documentation and complete reporting as required by the company.

Teamwork:
Foster a collaborative team environment and maintain a positive, can-do attitude.

Multidisciplinary Tenders:
Ability to tender on predominantly civil projects and incorporate other disciplines such as structural, mechanical, and electrical.  

THE DETAILS:

  • Rockhampton-based role (must reside locally)
  • Monday to Friday dayshift roster - approx. 48 to 56 hours per week
  • Full-time permanent role
  • Some travel may be required - e.g. Blackwater / Central Qld / Qld
