We are now seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join the Genesis IT team, predominately based in our Perth Corporate Office.
 
In the role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of the company’s network communication infrastructure. The role involves maintaining and enhancing the existing network infrastructure, as well as scoping and delivering architectural improvements across the broader network, encompassing both operational technology and process control networks.
 
In addition you will ensure the provision of robust, secure, and efficient communication systems that support the company’s operational and strategic objectives.
 
About the role:

  • Coordinating with IT suppliers to ensure timely resolution of issues, requests, changes and where required, management of escalations
  • Ensuring effective scoping and delivery of network projects as defined by IT Leadership and business stakeholders
  • Ensuring network security issues are identified, escalated and resolved in the most efficient and effective way possible using a mix of short-term workarounds and network architecture design changes
  • Design and delivery of suitable network solutions for Genesis Minerals across corporate, process control and OT environments balancing security requirements alongside operational efficiency and industry best practice
  • Ensuring all network documentation is up to date, reviewed and maintained on a regular basis and stored in a fit for purpose location
  • Coordination of licensing and support renewals for all network related hardware and software with third party vendors
  • Define and ownership of networking standards across the environment
  • Ensuring a suite of core spares is obtained and retained on key sites, reducing the impacts and length of potential outages
  • Define lifecycle principles and processes for all network infrastructure and supporting systems
  • Ensuring firewalls and core network infrastructure is patched and maintained and the relevant security patch level, working with service providers where required to meet defined objectives

We’re excited to hear from you if you have:

  • Networking certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP)
  • Strong general IT knowledge
  • Experience in designing and implementing secure communications solutions using a mix of networking technologies.
  • Experience with implementation and support of corporate, PCN and OT networks.
  • Experience with implementation and support of Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls
  • Design and administration of cloud networking technologies experience (e.g. Azure)
  • Understanding of core network technologies and site connectivity solutions (e.g. MPLS, SD-WAN etc).
  • Experience with supporting both Corporate and OT/Process control networking solutions
