What you will do with us:

We are seeking a R&D Innovation Chemist to join our team. 

Experience in Cosmetic Formulation is Mandatory.

The role is responsible for formulating and delivering new products to the market through planning and implementing development projects from concept through to full-scale production. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Continuously monitor and identify innovative concepts and trends in the market relevant to the industry.
  • Development of new products to brief and on time as well as reformulating existing products while reducing complexity and costs of products managing the entire process from conceptualization to full-scale production.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Team to provide insights on market trends and innovations that can be leveraged for product development.
  • Prepare laboratory-scale batches for formulation, customer samples, and various tests. 
  • Ensures all tests required (e.g. stability, PET, attribute testing) are conducted, tracked, and reported on time in line with agreed specifications to launch products within deadlines. 
  • Assess cosmetic packaging for quality, functionality, and stability to ensure product integrity.
  • Oversee scale-up and pilot batches, making recommendations for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
  • Provide support to manufacturing for any troubleshooting & recommendations on how to fix out-of-product specifications.
  • Ensure the quality control of laboratory raw material samples by maintaining organized sample storage and COA documents.
  • Adhere to company procedures and policies, follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and uphold safety regulations in both laboratory and manufacturing areas.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Formulation, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in the development and formulation of cosmetics and personal care products.
  • Previous experience with SAP or any ERP system is advantageous.
  • Understanding of technical and regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, process-oriented, with a sense of curiosity and creativity.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within strict timeframes.
  • Hardworking and capable of working as part of an integrated team in a creative and fast-paced environment.
