HEAD PSYCHOLOGIST

(Full-time/ High Part-time)

Perth College is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Psychologist to lead our Psychologist and Counselling team in supporting the wellbeing of students. As a member of the Wellbeing Leadership Team, the Head Psychologist will contribute to the proactive approach of progressing student wellbeing and provide therapeutic support for students, predominantly within the Senior School.

This is a full-time ongoing position; however, we are open to considering a high part-time role for the right candidate.

The Head Psychologist’s primary role is to provide psychological services to students within the School and to work with other staff in supporting students and families; to facilitate access and participation to educational programs in order to maximise educational outcomes for students; and to utilise psychological expertise in education and learning to build the capacity of the School community to support this same outcome.

Reporting to the Director of Wellbeing, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, forward-thinking and possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding the principles of Positive Psychology and expertise in delivering programs aligned with these principles would be advantageous.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team to advance our pastoral, InsideOut, experiential learning and other wellbeing programs. Our ideal candidate will have considerable experience in providing psychological counselling to young adolescents.

Applications NEED to address specific criteria to support their experience. The criteria document must be a maximum of 2 pages in length, and it should clearly detail your understanding and experience in:

  1. conducting psychometric, psychological and educational assessments involving intellectual and achievement assessment tools, clinical measures, interviews and observations;
  2. determining, designing and implementing effective interventions which promote positive educational and psychological outcomes for young people;
  3. building positive relationships with students, staff and parents that result in improved outcomes for students;
  4. developing and facilitating programs and/or workshops for students, staff and members of the School community; and
  5. working collaboratively and energetically within a dynamic organisation.

It is expected that employees will support the Anglican ethos of the School and all School policies and procedures.

Please include a covering letter and current resume, including at least two referees who can comment on your work performance with your selection criteria document.

Applications can be sent via email to hr@pc.wa.edu.au
