Technical Game Designer

Responsibilities:
Anticipate player needs regarding game modes Work with team leads to develop a vision for new and updated game modes in League of Legends Update and balance existing game modes Work with a diverse team of developers to deliver compelling new features Guide other designers and engineers in optimal ways of building features that allow us to develop quickly now and in the future. Be the "go to" person for complex implementations of design content, and for shepherding projects that require heavy programmer/designer interaction.. Be an example to other designers in writing clever, elegant, and maintainable implementations within designer tools. Build positive relationships across teams at Riot in shared gameplay spaces
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a Game Design role or similar experience. You apply a rigorous approach to design. You identify what creates interesting gameplay, what appeals to players, and why things work. You're able to translate lessons from one genre to another. You can identify a problem, develop a range of solutions to it, and select the most appropriate one. Then, you can create and communicate the details of that proposed solution. You are exemplary at sharing and asking for feedback. You deeply understand player needs, especially those related to deep, meaningful player connections and unique game modes that keep League of Legends fresh. You have a comprehensive understanding of League of Legends or MOBA design principles, particularly with respect to game modes. You are comfortable with C++, and can work broadly across a complex codebase for features and tools, and can ramp into new spaces as needed.

Can quickly produce a wide breadth of gameplay solutions and generate and identify an excellent solution Can assess a game mode design thoroughly, identify all significant problems, and prioritise themFor this role, you'll succeed through craft expertise and a collaborative spirit that prioritises the delight of players. We will look at your past studies and experience, but for this role, we also look for dedicated people with a personal relationship with games.
