Overview

Hexagon Autonomy and Positioning (A&P) is looking for Lead Perception System Engineer to lead the system design and test of Localization and Perception solutions for deployment on production in Mining, Agriculture, and other industries supported by the Hexagon portfolio of companies. Our customers rely on Hexagon A&P’s industry leading technology when building their own solutions. The Location:  Hexagon is a global company with offices around the world. This position is based in Perth, AUS . 

Responsibilities

As our Lead Perception System Engineer , responsibilities include: 

Define System requirements and architecture Define, develop, assess technical solutions to fulfill project needs Test and validate in vehicle Coordinate in vehicle testing at farms, mines, and other locations as needed Work with the Perception team to use and integrate existing solution. Contribute to Make or buy decision Work with task tracking tools such as JIRA and Confluence to update tasks regularly  Report project status to management as needed Travel to customer and test sites as needed when testing and deploying solutions to vehicle, typically less than 20%

Qualifications

Must-Have:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field 5+ years of experience developing software for computer vision, robotics, autonomous driving, or machine learning 1+ years of techincal or project leadership Proven track record of deploying camera, radar, or lidar perception in autonomous vehicles Experience with computer vision algorithms (object detection, object tracking, semantic segmentation, SLAM, stereo vision Strong understanding of Python Scripting Ability to travel up to 15% of the time Ability to speak and work in English

Nice-to-Have:  

Master’s degree Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field Production automotive or other transportation perception experience
