Metal Fabricator/ TIG Welder

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced full-time Metal Fabricator to join our dynamic team at our location in Reservoir, VIC. As a Metal Fabricator at Bendex, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components and structures to the highest standards of quality and precision. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects and contribute to the success of our clients across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Fabricate and assemble metal components, including cutting, bending, shaping, and welding, according to engineering drawings and specifications.

·        Perform various welding techniques such as gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) to join metal parts with precision and accuracy.

·        Cutting, rolling, shaping and moulding plates and metal sections with guillotine, other hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines precisely.

·        Ensure that all fabricated components adhere to the utmost standards of quality, precision, and full compliance with industry regulations and client specifications.

·        Select and handle metal materials effectively, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, while adhering to safety protocols and procedures.

·        Maintain the safety and efficiency of fabrication equipment and tools by conducting regular maintenance and troubleshooting as required, aiming to achieve optimal performance at all times.

·        Collaborate effectively with colleagues, including engineers, welders, and supervisors, to achieve project objectives, resolve technical issues, and deliver projects on time and within budget.

·        Adhere diligently to safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe workspace for yourself and your colleagues, effectively reducing potential risks and hazards associated with fabrication tasks.

Qualifications and Experience:

·        Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Metal Fabrication /equivalent qualification) or at least 2 years of relevant work experience in lieu of the qualification.

·        Proven experience of 2 years as a Metal Fabricator in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on metal fabrication techniques and processes.

·        Proficiency in various welding techniques, including GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW, with a focus on quality and precision.

·        Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.

·        Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.

·        Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

·        Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to relevant occupational health and safety regulations.
