We have an exciting term contract, part-time opportunity for up to 12 months, for an experienced and innovative Senior Strategic Planner to join our Strategic Planning and Economic Development team. Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Degree in Town Planning or a related field
  • Significant relevant work experience, including:
    • working with other disciplines and coordinating input from various professionals
    • preparing environmental planning instruments and development control plans, policy development and preparation.
  • Current class “C” driver’s licence.

Desirable:

  • Sound knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations, including the appropriate sections of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, State Environmental Planning Policies and 2009/2010 NSW Planning Reforms
  • Computer literate
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including the writing of complex reports
  • Proven skill in liaison and negotiation with external stakeholders
  • Ability to work well individually and within a team environment
  • Availability to work flexible working hours.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $2,011.56 per week, pro-rata
  • 21-hour working week 
  • Car allowance, pro-rata
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
