Eurofins Environment Testing Australia New Zealand is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. Job Description

  • Full Time (37.5 hours per week) Day Shift and Afternoon Shift positions are available
  • Casual positions also available with flexible shift times
  • Location based in Murarrie QLD 4172

The Prep Technician will be primarily responsible for sample preparation and involved in some analysis and other lab duties.

Reporting to the Team Leader, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Receiving and sorting samples, assigning tests in accordance with the database and preparing batch sheets on Microsoft Excel.
  • Extracting analytes from water/soil samples as directed by the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensuring traceability of samples prepared and performing quality control tests.
  • Treating quarantine samples in accordance with quarantine procedures as directed by the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) approved representative.
  • Discarding waste in accordance with safety and environmental considerations and replenishing consumable items (e.g. pipettes, vials, solvents).
  • Performing calibrations of POVAs such as syringes, steppers and solvent dispensers and other lab equipment.

Qualifications

  • A Science degree; certificate in Laboratory Techniques; or laboratory experience is preferred but not a requirement for this role.
