About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Educational Leader to join our Early Learning Centre and work from our beautiful campus located only 20 minutes from Brisbane CBD.

This role will be primarily responsible for inspiring, motivating and affirming the practice and pedagogy of educators in the Early Learning Centre environment.

The Educational Leader of John Paul College will be a degree qualified early childhood professional who will be responsible for:

  • The development and delivery of an academic learning programme which will align the learning environment with the needs of successful learners
  • Create a coherent, innovative approach to pedagogical knowledge and expertise which improves learning and achievement
  • Develop a clear focus on the learners needs as integral to their achievement, innovation, and global competence.
  • Coach, lead, support, and mentor the Lead Educators and Educators in leading quality practice throughout the service.
  • Undertake appropriate research and professional development so as to be informed about emerging programs, patterns and frameworks of early childhood education.
  • Utilise this specialist knowledge to develop and support the early childhood programs.
  • Leads the development of the curriculum and ensures the establishment of clear goals and expectations for teaching and learning
  • Develop and maintain links to the community by working with other community services and groups such as Aboriginal Elders.
  • Establish systems across the service to ensure there is continuity of learning when children change room or attend other services, and then in their transition to school.
  • Collaborate effectively with Educational Leaders and Administration Staff.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to model excellent leadership, build the capacity of educators, and support team members to provide a safe and engaging place for children, families, and the team.

Candidates will be required to

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) through the programs that are implemented and supported in the Early Learning Centre.
  • Currently hold an Early Childhood degree level qualification (or currently be studying towards this qualification).
  • Communicate effectively through face-to-face interactions with Lead Educators, Educators, families and children.
  • Have a high standard of written communication
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the John Paul College Strategic Vision by implementing appropriate early learning programs and identifying when those programs need to be changed or amended. 
  • Have First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates,

This position would work from 7:30am and 3:45pm Monday to Friday and will require a self-motivated, agile, and versatile individual with exceptional communication and organisational skills.

This role has an excellent program structure and will include two day’s non-contact/research time and three days of programming and mentoring relief.
