ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE

Our client is a prestigious institution with a rich history spanning nearly 100 years. As the business continues to evolve, they are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their team. 
As Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the businesses' financial activities. You will play a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop and monitor budgets
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Collaborate with external auditors and other stakeholders to facilitate audits and reviews
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • Proven experience as a senior accountant or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced MS Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and develop team members
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to upholding ethical standards
