St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is located near the junction of the M5 and M7 motorways. It is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population nearing 1500 students in 2024. The college is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site. As such, the college is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis is entering its 7th Stage of Building Development and offers state-of-the-art learning & specialist KLA facilities.

A unique opportunity is being offered for suitably qualified teacher to be part of a program in the systemic Catholic schools of the Diocese of Wollongong with a fixed term, full time or part time parental leave replacement commencing 22 July 2024 (or by negotiation) until 20 December 2024.

The successful applicant will be a flexible classroom practitioner with proven success as a classroom and/or casual classroom teacher.  This employment opportunity is aimed at providing both the students and the successful applicant with continuity and alignment with the particular educational direction of one school over a block of time while providing a ready supply of casual relief. 

The role of the Indentured Casual exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Create and maintain an orderly, safe, and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
  • Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
  • Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in KLA(s).
  • Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
  • Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers, and the wider school community.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Willingness and flexibility to teach classes from Kindergarten to Year 6.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Primary grades
  • Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.

GENERAL CAPABILITIES

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

CONDITIONS

  • The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.
  • This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
