Haynes is currently seeking Workshop Leading Hands for a valued client located in Paget, Mackay for an immediate start.
About the Job:
- Workshop Leading Hand
- Located in Paget, Mackay
- Monday – Friday, occasional Saturday shift required
- Ongoing (Temp to Permanent) Opportunity.
Requirements
- Trade Qualification – Diesel Mechanic, HV Mechanic or similar
- Minimum 5yrs experience in heavy vehicle or engine related business
- Current Drivers Licence
- Strong knowledge & experience with Western Star, MAN, MTU, Dennis Eagle, Detroit Diesel and Allison products
- Able to display positive leadership skills to a high performing team
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand or Senior Mechanic – highly regarded
- HR Licence or ability to obtain – highly regarded
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanics and apprentices of varying levels of experience, leveraging from their strengths and developing their areas for improvement
- Be predominantly hands on and lead day-to-day service work including diagnosis, servicing and minor/major repairs
- Lead, control and direct the workshop team to ensure that efficiencies in operation are achieved and monitored
- Assist leadership team to ensure accurate technician reports, timekeeping and job reports are completed
- Ensure the team deliver quality workmanship and enhance the overall customer experience.
