Role Description/Criteria

We are seeking a passionate and vibrant Auslan or LOTE teacher, to join our innovative school in 2025 with the possibility of ongoing classroom employment in 2026. Graduates encouraged to apply. 

The successful applicant is required for Auslan 0.6, with optional 0.2 - 0.4 in the classroom.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Demonstrate an ability to plan and implement an Auslan or LOTE Program from Prep to Year 6, using the Victorian Curriculum and CEVN resources (1 hour per week, per class).

• Have strong classroom management skills and a talent for promoting positive student behaviour.

• Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and a willingness to be flexible.

• Demonstrate the capacity to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.

• Complete required evaluation, assessment and reporting as part of professional teaching routines.

• Attend staff meetings, PLTs and professional development activities pro-rata. 

• Work professionally and collaboratively with colleagues, parents and students modelling compassion, respect and inclusivity, which is in line with the school's Vision Statement and School Child Safety Policy.

• Uphold the AITSL professionalism standards for teachers and the VIT Code of Conduct.
