Key duties:

  • Inform and implement Safety Management Plans across the project.
  • Adhere with legislations, regulations, and standards and that all activities on the project are undertaken in a safe manner, and with the application of suitable frameworks and documentation.
  • Undertake ICAM investigations in relation to safety related incidents or issues and provide recommendations through the contract leadership team.
  • Ensure risk assessments and risk registers are maintained and all records are managed.
  • Assist in delivering the audit program.
  • Develop and deliver safety related training when required including new starter induction, toolbox talks and prestart meetings.
  • Provide onsite support – including coaching and mentoring of Site Leads / Area Managers / etc - for sites across the state (incl Canberra)
  • Create monthly reports and attend the Management Team meeting for the two contracts.

 
Could you be our next Senior SHEQ Advisor?
As our Senior SHEQ Advisor, you will liaise with various Ventia defence contracts operating across NSW, travel to sites and monitor and provide insights on the SHEQ performance and identify overall risks and improvement. You will be the single point of contact (within the Ventia Defence SHEQ team) for the National Clothing Stores and Retail Stores national contracts. You will have:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Workplace/ Occupation Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene and Health, Environmental or Quality Equivalent.
  • You must be an Australian citizen and be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. 
  • Have formal training in incident investigation or be willing to undertake a 2 day training course upon commencement.
  • Have suitable experience as a safety professional in industrial safety and possess the required technical skills and knowledge to perform the role.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and a positive team culture.
