About the role

Effectively work in collaboration with the finance team to administer and monitor payroll functions in order to ensure ATSICHS Brisbane finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner. The Senior Payroll Officer will have duties and responsibilities specifically to payroll functions.

Duties

  • Ensure the payroll function is executed in accordance with the ATSICHS Brisbane Payroll Policy and Procedures. In addition, keep abreast of industry requirements and changes relevant to wages, payroll and similar entitlements related to industry awards, enterprise agreements and other Fair Work and NES updates.
  • Interpret and apply various awards, agreements, and employment contracts accurately.
  • Ensure payroll practices comply with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Manage and maintain payroll systems, timesheet systems, and finance systems.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports with reconciliation to relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyse payroll data for trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Commit to ongoing continuous quality improvement processes with annual reviews into the efficiency of service provision.
  • Provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding finance matters and processes in relation to Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Payroll related matters and entitlements.

  • Permanent full time position.
  • Starting annual salary of $87,000 (depending on qualifications and experience).
  • 11% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay).

COVID-19 Requirement

  • Immunisation history showing  you have received two doses of a Covid -19 vaccine is encouraged.

Required

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant discipline (e.g. Business, Commerce, Economics) AND Minimum three (3) years’ experience as payroll officer in a similar organisation. OR
  • 5 years experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to support and manage a continuous improvement model for achieving outcomes.
  • Strong administration skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills with demonstrated ability to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Working with Children’s Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply.
  • National Police Check.
  • Current drivers license.

Preferred

  • Diploma or higher level of qualification in Business, Accounting, or other Finance related field
  • Previous experience in ELMO and Pay RTA.
  • Sound knowledge of modern awards and experience with interpretation.
