Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced internal communications specialist based in either Melbourne or Ballarat. 
 

Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Director within the Mars Wrigley Corporate Affairs Team, the Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the development and implementation of Mars Wrigley Australia’s Associate Communication Strategy and related initiatives.

This role works closely with the General Manager, local Leadership Team and other senior leaders to engage and inspire Associates by leading our internal communications agenda, built to enable our business strategy. This role will also be responsible for ensuring that CSR, diversity and inclusion and people and culture agendas are the ‘golden thread’ through all our Associate projects and programs.

What are we looking for?

  • Demonstrated experience in corporate comms with internal communication functional experience in a large, complex company.

  • A proven track record of leading and developing organisation-wide internal change comms strategies and working with senior leaders.

  • Proven ability to influence and provide strategic advice and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders and audiences.

  • Demonstratable knowledge and application of best practice and trends in for internal comms and employee engagement; track record of delivering creative, innovating channels and program that achieve high impact.

  • Able to lead, manage and motivate others, ensuring work programs are delivered in line with set team and departmental objectives.

  • Strong project management skills – excellent time management, ability to multi-task, work under pressure, achieve agreed outcomes and manage budgets.

  • Strong self-leadership skills; able to lead through ambiguity, work autonomously and set clear priorities and expectations.

What will be your key responsibilities?

This role will support Mars Wrigley’s two manufacturing sites (Ballarat and Asquith) and 1 market site (Melbourne) and remote Field Sales Associates. In this role, you will:
 

  • Lead, develop and implement Mars Wrigley Australia’s internal comms and employee engagement strategy.

  • Lead delivery of clear, concise and purposeful comms through targeted mediums that support Associate understanding of the business strategy and connection to our purpose.

  • Provide advice and recommendations to the General Manager, Leadership Team, senior managers, and People & Org Team to deliver clear, purposeful messages to Associates.

  • Partner closely with our two Manufacturing sites and their leadership teams to deliver internal comms strategies that engage Associates by leveraging existing and new comms platforms.

  • Additionally provide support on key site initiatives such as change programs, transformation, and broader people and culture projects.
