ABOUT THE POSITION 
RetireAustralia is seeking a talented and dedicated cook to join our passionate team at our Bartonvale Village on a part-time basis. As our inhouse cook, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional cooking services to our residents, ensuring they enjoy delicious and nutritious meals while adhering to the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies and procedures.

Reporting to the Village Manager, you will also be responsible for:

  •   Assisting in the control and monitoring of stock take, food orders, and costing for an efficient kitchen operation.
  • Maintaining and managing food handling regulations.
  • Planning and preparing food for events and special functions within the village.
  • Ensuring privacy and confidential policies are adhere to strictly and information regarding our residents will only be provided to external parties by management.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA 
As part of the application process, you will be required to provide a National Police Check, proof of right to work in Australia, participate in pre-employment assessment, verification of identification and qualifications. Additionally, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in preparation of nutritionally adequate and appropriate meals specific to a range of special requirements for elderly residents.
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/formal Chef/Cook training.
  • Current Food Handling Certificate.
  • National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate (or ability to obtain).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test.
