ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Quality Officer is responsible for business wide initiation, continuous improvement, review and update of our quality assurance and control processes for our Welshpool operations with particular focus on the DC power systems assembled in our electrical workshop.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Development and management of Ampcontrol’s Quality Action Plan and QA/QC requirements
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement in established ITPs and inspection regimes, implementing and ensuring they are embedded into the Welshpool business.
  • Lead the establishment of quality control inspection and testing criteria for new products
  • Lead the establishment of inspections for quality assurance inspections of subcontracted activities or subcontracted engineered to order products.
  • Provide information and advice to the management and employees on QA/QC issues, ensuring a register is created and maintained
  • Coaching and support of all teams in QA/QC implementation, this may include the training of others on what QA/QC is.
  • Participate in external audits as scheduled for sites acting as the company QA/QC representative, alongside other company management representatives
  • Responsible for QA/QC improvements and corrective/preventive actions following audits to ensure agreed actions are addressed and improvement is verified. Engaging both internal and external stakeholders into this process to ensure actions are being truly addressed to ensure reoccurrence does not take place.
  • Report monthly on status of actions to management

ABOUT YOU:

Your willingness to get hands-on in a fast-paced services environment will be complemented by the following:

  • Ideally you will hold an Electrical Trade or Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment would be highly desirable.
  • Formal qualifications in QA/QC desirable, but not essential.
  • Competent in the Microsoft Office applications suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised and accurate.
