Our client Techsafe Seating is hiring for Vehicle Trimmer

Location: Hervey Bay, Hervey Bay & Fraser Coast QLD

As a Vehicle Upholsterer the duties will include:

Perform sub-assembly and full assembly of automotive seat frames, foams, mechanisms and soft trim components, utilising air tools and hand tools and including gluing, stapling and trimming of seat upholstery covers         

Understand and utilise pick sheets, trim/finishing drawings, work orders, standard work instructions and verbal instructions for all assembly processes    

Make quality checks and adjustments required for proper functional operation of mechanisms, safety critical components and completed seat assemblies       

Lift and move frames to and from work areas 

Construct seat framework sections in metal and other materials using processing machines and cutting and welding equipment

Bolt, screw rivet and weld sections together to form complete frameworks

Assemble support frame, foam cushions, seat covers, safety belts, headrests and armrests

Prepare new vehicle trim work according to drawings and sketches, removing original coverings and fittings from vehicles to measure and pattern

Select and cut pieces of fabric, vinyl and leather

Using heavy-duty industrial sewing machines, sew precut panels of fabric, vinyl and leather to form the seat cover, with emphasis on quality of stitching, seam allowance and straightness of sew lines

Maintain a clean, safe and productive manufacturing work environment

Experience: Certificate III in Upholstery or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications. Experience in OEM car manufacturing plant or tier parts supplier environment is highly valued.
