Your Opportunity:

As the Principal Program Officer – Brisbane 2032 Sustainability Program you will use your program management skills and experience to coordinate and design and deliver cross-government Games delivery partner initiatives to deliver on the government commitments for a more sustainable and low-carbon Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games (Games).

The Team:
 
This team is responsible for the joint delivery of the Brisbane 2032 Sustainability Program with the Brisbane Organising Committee for the Olympic Games. The Brisbane 2032 Sustainability Program’s objectives are to:

Develop and promote a clear and ambitious agenda to deliver a more sustainable and low-carbon Games. Ensure that Games sustainability objectives are positioned as a strategic priority for Games Delivery Partners and fully integrated throughout the planning and staging of all Games delivery activities. Provide the Games with the governance, technical capability, best practice advice and support to embed sustainability and optimise event sustainability outcomes and legacies.
Delivery is to be taken across 10 programs, of which the Sustainability program is a cross-cutting one. The Sustainability Program delivers discrete projects, reports on progress of projects and ensures that other programs are adhering to appropriate standards and/or policies. The Sustainability Program will define, through the development of, and advice on, best practice across other programs, strategies and/or policies, the strategic outcomes that must be delivered for the Games.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the provision of effective, consistent and timely program planning of the Brisbane 2032 Sustainability Program, including governance, reporting and delivery issues resolution. Develop and maintain a robust understanding of the Brisbane 2032 Sustainability Program’s initiatives, to ensure that they meet the priorities of, and are aligned to, the delivery of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games’ sustainability commitments and objectives.  Develop comprehensive program documentation in line with the Managing Successful Programs-based Brisbane 2032 Program Management Framework, including benefits and outcomes, Program Blueprint, Program Delivery Plan, Program Management Plan and Program Reporting. In consultation with the delivery partners of the program’s initiatives, help to identify and facilitate resolution of conflicting priorities, dependencies, risks and issues that affect the delivery of multiple initiatives.  Monitor program level delivery metrics and provide input to effective, consistent and timely performance metrics and reporting of initiatives to governance committees and the Chief Executive Officer to assist portfolio and program level decisions and direction setting. Develop and maintain highly effective collaborative relationships by communicating, consulting, and negotiating with the Brisbane 2032 Organisation Committee and Initiative leads/delivery partners and their teams. Prepare papers and correspondence on program delivery issues. Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
