About the Project
McConnell Dowell, in a joint venture with John Holland, are delivering a unique green energy project located in Kidston, 270km north-west of Townsville. The Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro project is the first of its kind in Australia in more than 40 years and will be the country’s third-biggest electricity storage facility.

We are seeking qualified HD Mechanical Fitters to join the Maintenace team here, servicing Underground Mining equipment, Excavators, Dozers and Trucks. 

The project is FIFO from Cairns, Townsville and Brisbane:
12-hour days with paid travel time; Attractive hourly rate and allowances; Camp accommodation and flights from major centres in Queensland; Camp has Wet Mess, Gym, Games Room, Tennis and Basketball Courts; 2 x HD Shift Fitter positions Experience with Underground Mining machinery is preferred. The candidates we seek have the following:
Australian recognised trade completion certificate. High level of technical skills on a diverse fleet of underground and surface works equipment. Outstanding troubleshooting / diagnostic skills, continuous improvement and technical excellence. Strong commitment to workplace safety and the wellbeing of team mates. Respect for others in the workplace as a key personal value. Positive attitude with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Proven history working in the industry, preferably in North Queensland. Construction Industry White Card (Online not accepted). Ability to pass a pre-employment medical.
