Melbourne, Australia Amazon Web Services Australia Pty Ltd Full time
At Amazon, our mission is to be the earth’s most customer-centric company. To achieve this, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a place where motivated employees thrive and where employee ownership and accountability lead to meaningful results. AWS provides highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure services in the cloud that power hundreds of thousands of business globally.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a motivated Instructional Designer who possesses a unique balance of technical depth, business knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills. You will partner with several AWS teams to craft learning paths to educate AWS field sales teams and have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy for new educational content, services, and features.

The ideal candidate is an innovative, driven, problem solving Instructional Designer with experience working across multiple instructional delivery modalities to create high-quality learning experiences that support field sales and partner teams. The role requires an individual who is knowledgeable in adult learning and instructional design strategies for performance-based outcomes, can innovate, move quickly, and not be constrained by how things have been done before.

The candidate is motivated to study, share, collaborate and discuss subjects related to learning experience design. Subjects, such as cognitive psychology, instructional theory, performance improvement, design thinking, user experience, visual communication, user interface design, mobile design, video production, writing and much more. You possess an ability to create exciting, engaging, and excellent instructional design, and work seamlessly with stakeholders to ensure project success.

Key job responsibilities
• Be the voice of the learner, ensuring their needs are at the forefront of our content efforts, develop new content, iterate and improve on existing content
• Lead projects through the design lifecycle from scoping, research and analysis, design, development, and launch; providing clear timelines through all phases, communicating with key partners, and selecting appropriate measurement for successful implementation
• Identify learning objectives, assess learners, define performance outcomes, and evaluate instruction delivery strategies, including consulting with program owners and subject matter experts to identify performance gaps and learning objectives
• Development of instructional materials (tutorials, digital interactives, user guides, scripts, story boards, navigational text, tests, etc.) that transform information into engaging instructional materials
• Collaborate on learning design projects, enlisting subject matter experts to produce and publish technical content
• Understand related fields—usability and experience design, information design, communications and new technologies
• Be conversant with the ADDIE instructional design model. Preferably with SADL experience.
• Conduct Performance Needs Analysis
• Implement our client's ISD process by transitioning proposals to ISD strategies, vetting all ISD methodologies, defining levels of courseware fidelity and monitoring quality throughout the ISD process
• Liaise with stakeholders to understand their performance gaps and provide concise advice on training solutions that fill those gaps
• Monitor project status
