As Teacher Innovation & Discovery, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students through creative and forward-thinking approaches to learning. You will be responsible for integrating technology into the classroom and fostering a culture of creativity and critical thinking.

Teachers at Piara Waters Senior High School set high standards whilst delivering a rigorous curriculum which is both challenging and rewarding. Experience in developing relevant programs with links to ‘real’ world experiences is advantageous. 

Suitable applicants will have a focus on providing deep learning, be data literate and possess effective classroom management skills. They will ideally be motivated to work in a team environment and support the development of a positive culture. As a foundation school, the flexibility and ability to teach in other areas is highly desirable. Teachers who are Gifted Education Research, Resources and Information Centre (GERRIC) trained are encouraged to apply. Teachers with experience in teaching Aviation are also encouraged to apply.

We are seeking applications from individuals who wish to contribute to our broader school community – creating the conditions where high expectations and high-quality teaching thrive. Suitable applicants will be able to support the development of positive social relationships and utilise the flexible learning spaces within our learning environment to personalise learning for students thereby creating an environment which fosters curiosity, enhances creativity and engenders critical thinking. As a new and growing school, applicants may be required to teach outside of their major learning area.

Piara Waters SHS is situated in the beautifully landscaped suburb of Piara Waters, approximately 25 kms south of Perth. The school is surrounded by luscious greenery and forms part of the vibrant, multicultural community of Piara Waters. The school commenced with Year 7 students in 2023 and will add each year to its growing cohort until it reaches Year 12 in 2028.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
