The UGL Fuels & Energy line of business are seeking interest from experienced Health, Safety & Environment Advisor’s to join Operations onsite; Long Island Point, Hastings VIC. As part of the role, this position will oversee, advise, coach and influence the LIP team (employees and contractors) in safety. 

About the role 

The HSE Advisor (field) is a key role providing advice and support to the Leadership team in driving HSE performance through alignment and delivery of programs and initiatives, and identification and management of HSE risks across the portfolio. 

You will monitor and interpret HSE legislation, policies and regulations in order to provide direction and advice which meet statutory, corporate and client objectives and responsibilities. 

  

About you 

To be considered for the role the following qualifications will be highly regarded: 

  

  • 5 years’ plus experience in HSE role in a high risk industry for major resources sites within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Chemical industries  

  • Excellent knowledge of the relevant HSE legislation; AS/NZS4801- ISO 14001- ISO 9001 

  • Lead the execution of the Safety Observation Program at LIP including recognizing what great looks 

  • like (LIP Safety Stars) 

  • Demonstrated capability to develop and implement HSE management systems 

  • Experience in leading incident investigations, reporting & presenting outcomes 

  • Design and deploy critical risk and HSE culture change initiatives aimed at increasing the focus and attention on HSE in the business 

  • Ability to manage multiple competing stakeholders demands in a time critical environment 

  • Collaborate as part of a supportive high-performing team providing mentoring and coaching to individuals
