The Star Brisbane, positioned at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, will be Australia’s newest entertainment and leisure destination. Commencing a staged opening in 2024, The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop and socialise in the river city. 

The Café Attendant, presents an entry point to a career in Food & Beverage and will report  to the Sous Chef. The successful candidate’s primary role will be maintaining adequate stock of service utensils and food items as per the menu as well as maintain the hygiene and sanitation standards in both service and dining room areas.

A few of your responsibilities    

  • Check that equipment is cleaned and free from chipping before restocking service areas.  Ensure equipment is always stocked, including cutlery, crockery, glassware and trays  

  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment, tables and serveries in the dining room and kitchen areas 

  • Ensure plating procedures are followed and all food items are topped up or replaced when required.  This includes hot and cold serveries, fridges, ie yoghurt, cakes, fruit trays and back up salads  

  • Preparation of the daily buffet requirements and miscellaneous food duties including organising of food from kitchens and stores  

  • Ensure all food handling procedures are followed, food items are rotated and dated and any food transferred from production kitchen is documented  

What we will be looking for  

  • Can- do team attitude whilst upholding The Star values  

  • Sound knowledge of or ability to learn food safety regulations 

  • Flexible availability to work on a rotating roster that can include early mornings and night shifts. 

  • Self-motivation and flexibility to work individually and as a team as required 

  • Ability to focus and prioritise several tasks.  

Experience in kitchen environments is desirable although not essential, we are looking for motivated candidates who can work within a team environment. In this role you will learn and develop an understanding of OH&S standards and take pride in supporting the team to ensure all areas are kept clean and tidy. The role of the Café Attendant is integral to the team and their success in providing an exceptional guest experience.

About us 

The $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development is being delivered by Destination Brisbane Consortium – a joint venture led by The Star Entertainment Group alongside its partners.   

When complete, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will deliver four new luxury hotels, more than 50 new food and beverage experiences, significant luxury retail, the restoration of nine heritage buildings and around 1,500 residential apartments.   

Our current property, Treasury Brisbane, showcases old-world opulence of a five-star hotel; the non-stop excitement of Brisbane’s only 24-hour casino; the thrill of live entertainment; the glamour of exclusive fashion events; the tantalising taste of unique restaurants. Treasury Brisbane will transition into The Star Brisbane aligned to an early 2024 opening.
