Electrical Design Engineer

Zenviron have a permanent position available for a highly motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join the engineering team based in the Newcastle Office. Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing quality, safe, and commercially effective engineering designs for project delivery of large scale wind farms and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

If you are an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with exposure to large scale electrical infrastructure projects, who wants to be a part of key growth across the renewables sector, come and join the inclusive and high performing Zenviron team. 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working as part of the Zenviron engineering delivery team, involved in the development, and ongoing refinement of HV and LV electrical system designs
  • Supporting electrical equipment procurement activities, co-ordinating suppliers and subcontractors
  • Understanding your WHS responsibilities and actively promoting and supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others
  • Providing technical support to the project teams
  • Ensuring all designs/documentation meet the relevant standards AS/IEC
  • Supporting electrical procurement activities with suppliers and subcontractors as necessary
  • Providing engineering support to project electrical works including engineering investigations, site inspections, solving problems and making recommendations

What we are looking for:

  • Australian recognised Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia (or be eligible to obtain)
  • Experience in electrical infrastructure engineering design for large scale renewable energy or high voltage projects (highly regarded)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Good communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Proof of right to work in Australia
