The Opportunity:

Komatsu is currently in search of a Workshop Technician to join our esteemed team at our Emerald location. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Service Manager and take on the responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day operations of a skilled team dedicated to equipment repairs, servicing, and maintenance. Your role will extend to include the coordination of both field and workshop activities, ensuring the seamless operation of our essential functions.

Roster: Monday to Friday Roster

Role Located: Emerald Branch

What we are looking for:

  • Possession of qualifications and substantial experience in Diesel Fitting or Mechanical Fitting.
  • A comprehensive understanding and prior hands-on experience in the repair and refurbishment of earthmoving equipment and its associated components.
  • Demonstrated leadership as a lead hand, preferably within the earthmoving, mining, or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in testing components using specialized test equipment.
  • Aptitude in conducting technical fault diagnosis throughout the dismantling and inspection phases.
  • Strong communication skills and a valuable team-oriented approach.
  • A proactive self-starter with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Basic to intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Exhibits a positive, ethical work demeanour, marked by dependability and reliability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and a profound commitment to safety standards.
  • Profound machine diagnostic and repair capabilities.
  • Skill in performing rigorous quality inspections upon the completion of machine work.
  • Competence in testing and adjusting machine operating and monitoring systems.
  • Proficiency in generating technical reports to a professional standard.
  • Capability to effectively coordinate workshop rebuild and maintenance projects.
  • Overseeing on-the-job training of tradespersons and apprentices.
