Chandler Macleod are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Policy and Project Advisor to join our client based in Melbourne CBD for a full-time temporary role starting ASAP until October 2025.

This team leads policies, supports, training, and initiatives that foster safe, respectful, and inclusive work environments for the employees.

Role Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality policies, projects, strategies, and innovative initiatives that enhance the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees. Key priorities include:

  • Providing clear policies, resources, and building capabilities around respectful workplaces, bullying, sexual harassment, and work-related violence.
  • Responding to the audit on work-related violence in schools.
  • Supporting the implementation and review of the School Community Safety Order Scheme.
  • Ensuring there are effective systems and processes to protect staff wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of key projects, ensuring continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Manage contracts, including performance monitoring of training providers.
  • Draft and present written briefs, reports, and option papers for decision-makers.
  • Engage with stakeholders, negotiating and influencing outcomes that align with strategic goals.
  • Conduct research and analysis to develop policies and strategies for staff safety and wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • High-level project management skills, with experience in governance, performance monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Strong policy development abilities, with excellent written communication skills.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to consult, negotiate, and influence.
  • Experience in contract management and performance monitoring.
  • Desirable: Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in public sector policy, strategy, or project management.
