Role Details

We are currently looking for experienced First Class Sheetmetal Tradesperson/Fabricator to join our clients team. 

Our client is a customer-focused business, with an excellent reputation in the steel building products industry.

Sheetmetal Tradespeople / Fabricators often interact with customers, so MUST present well, and have a strong commitment to excellent customer service.

They are a small team (~18 people), so everyone, including all Tradespeople are expected to learn and perform a variety of tasks, and may be required to work overtime.


Duties include all aspects of manufacturing rainwater goods. They mainly use COLORBOND® and ZINCALUME® steel, however, it would be favourable if you can also fabricate and weld stainless steel. You must be able to fabricate the following:


·         Sumps

·         Rainheads

·         Upstands

 

Other duties include:

·         Demonstrated commitment to Health and Safety – follow all safety policies, procedures and health and safety requirements. You must be willing to undertake  a pre-placement medical, including drug and alcohol screening

·         Manufacturing downpipes and flashings, as required – working on benders, presses and the guillotine

·         Driving the forklift – to move steel coils, palettes and material

·         Material handling and packing for customer pick-up and delivery

·         Work closely with all members in the factory to ensure company high

              level of production quality and service is upheld

Location:  Osborne Park

Hours:  Monday to Thursday – 6.45am to 3.15pm; Friday - 6.45am to 12.45pm Working overtime is necessary, as and when required



Role Requirements and Qualifications

  • Appropriate qualification
  • Forklift ticket
  • Recent experience in manufacturing sheetmetal rainwater goods is ESSENTIAL
  • Ability to fabricate and weld stainless steel is an advantage Current forklift license
  • Good references, recent work history and own transport
  • Demonstrated experience working in your field
  • Construction White Card 
  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Medical and LAB Drug and Alcohol test
