Our well-established maintenance team based in Toowoomba are currently seeking a Signal Electrician to join the team on a permanent full-time basis.

About the Team
Reporting to the Asset Maintenance Coordinator Toowoomba, you will work within a team that consists of 6 Signal Electricians, 5 Mechanical Systems Maintainers and 5 Mechanical Support Maintainer all working closely to cover the region. They are a supportive team that work together to cover large kilometres of our rail network predominately across the South West, West Moreton, Near North Coast and Central West.

About the role: 
As a Signal Electrician you will carry out the installation, maintenance and repair of signalling equipment as well as report on the performance and condition of signalling assets. You will play a key role in achieving our vision of delivering world-class rail services for our customers by ensuring the safety and reliability of our assets and services.

In this role you will:

Install, repair and adjust electrical signalling equipment. Undertake scheduled maintenance activities on signalling equipment. Attend signalling failures to analyse, repair and report on cause of failures.  Maintain records and documentation relating to signal maintenance and costing systems. Report on actual work performed against the scheduled work program and report any equipment irregularities.  Work predominately between the hours of 0700 to 1600 on a 9-day fortnight

About you

Certificate IV Railway Signalling Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence Current Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence or interstate equivalent that can be changed over prior to starting Previous experience in the installation, maintenance and fault rectification of signalling equipment Ability to effectively organise workload  Must have capacity to travel and work within regional Queensland
