About The Role

In this role, we require an individual with previous or current exposure to the mining industry and demonstrated experience in project management or maintenance planning.

The role reports to the Asset Lead - Fleet Management and involves managing relationships with Australian mining operations, assets, technical services, commercial, contracts, legal, and business development teams for new work.

The role will help Thiess maintain asset management practices and lifecycles to adequately process, report and maintain fleet allocation strategies and budgets. The successful candidate will closely liaise with project teams to deliver and commission assets for Thiess’ Australian mining operations.

As the Asset Management Specialist (Fleet), this individual will help procure mining assets through robust stakeholder engagement and be someone who can communicate openly and honestly.

About You

As the Asset Management Specialist (Fleet), you possess strong commercial acumen and a demonstrated understanding of mining equipment solutions. Project or site experience coupled with a trade background or tertiary qualification in a relevant technical discipline (Engineering) is viewed favourably but not necessary. Your experience may have been attained with owner miners, OEMS, contractors or other relevant industries.

The role will provide seamless communication and collaboration and help to improve business processes. You have a solid track record dealing with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), dealers, supporting equipment suppliers, logistics companies, equipment hire companies, contractors, and consultants.

Your expertise in asset estimating, engineering, planning, finance, contracts, and administration, will help to uphold our partnerships beyond Thiess through to MACA, Rehabilitation and Fleetco.

You have a proactive and collaborative approach to improve service effectiveness and a basic understanding of accounting principles. You ideally have strong Microsoft Office suite skills and are proficient using JDE Asset Management (or equivalent) systems.

As part of our team, you will make a valuable contribution and be responsible for reviewing and planning asset management activities.
