About the role

We are currently seeking an Associate to join QIC’s Infrastructure team based in Brisbane on an open term, permanent basis. 

This is a multifaceted role which will see you work on a broad range of activities across asset management, origination, and portfolio management within the Social and Government sector team.

The key accountabilities include but are not limited to:

Conduct financial analysis, including financial modelling, sensitivity, and scenario analysis. Perform valuation analysis for new opportunities and assist with periodic independent valuations of portfolio assets. Lead investment due diligence, including management meetings, review of materials, numerical analysis, consultant management, reference calls, and preparation of investment recommendations. Compiling macro/market and thematic/sectoral research. Support asset management tasks, including liaising on key business issues, preparing for board meetings, opportunity analysis, interacting with management, updating internal checklists, and assisting with quarterly client reporting. Manage specific portfolio assets and analyse/execute new investment opportunities based on deal flow, resource needs, and professional development objectives. Opportunities for rotation across different sectors and team members will be provided. Travel may be required depending on the task. Monitor sector, market, and economic conditions to assess their impact on client infrastructure portfolios. Manage and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders such as investment banks, fund managers, independent valuers, consultants, and peer institutional investors.

About you

You will have analytical, judgement, business writing, time management, and interpersonal skills. You will have:

Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Economics, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated, relevant financial or commercial experience with knowledge of the infrastructure market. Strong numeric skills, particularly in advanced financial modelling and analysis. Working knowledge of accounting standards and relevant legislation. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Energetic and collaborative work style with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment in an open and transparent manner. Ability to participate in projects, identify priorities, establishing time frames and complete or adjust where required. Understanding of the M&A execution process. Ability to interact effectively with senior management and external advisers to achieve results and develop long-term relationships.
