Data Visualisation Specialist

About the role

This 9 month secondment role reports to the Finance Data Viz Lead within Finance Advanced Analytics with the opportunity to contributing to the broader Finance Enablement team. The role will work closely with both finance and non finance team members to develop Data Visualisations and Reporting solutions.

Key role objectives

Design and wireframing of Data Viz solutions and working with the Finance and Non Finance stakeholders to iterate towards the best solution possible Document business and technical requirements clearly  Basic data modelling and working closely with the Data Engineering team Productionising dashboard and data models Help uplifting data visualisation capabilities within the finance community by creation of training content and facilitating training Establishing best practice guidelines and process for the E2E process of building a visualisation Contributing to initiatives to enable self-serve analytics across broader Finance Being a key contributor to the Finance Data Viz chapter

Key responsibilities

Focus and identify - ’Problem to solve’ by constantly engaging with business and suggesting the right tools and platform as the ‘Objective’. Thus, strategize and ideate with the team before beginning on the solution mode. Propose an end to end solutions approach by combining the data and visualization. Engage with the process/report owners to understand the requirements and identify the opportunity/problem to solve. Adopt a continuous feedback approach using a mix of design methodology and human centric design based on the audience. Manage working relationships with Finance Business stakeholders, IT Delivery Partners, and other FE team members


Technical Skills

Tableau - Must have. SQL - Must have. Tableau REST API- Great to have. Good understanding of Google cloud platform Google Composer - Good to have

Capabilities and traits

Analytical Skills - Focus on understanding of the ‘Problem to solve’ and evaluate the effectiveness of the solution based on the current process and infrastructure. Problem Solving - To be able to propose solutions to the issues that may arise during the development stage and find a workable or alternate solution. Detail Oriented – Need to have strong attention to detail of the requirements in order to spot inaccuracies in the overall solution and resulting data/report Collaboration – Work as part of a large team in an Agile manner  Proactive - Takes ownership of the task, is accountable for the result and follows through on commitments
