About the Opportunity

As an IT Service Transition Manager at EGL, you will be a key member of our IT service management team responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient transition of new and modified IT services into operation. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that all changes to IT services are managed effectively, minimizing risks and disruptions to the business. The IT Service Transition Manager will collaborate with various teams, including development, testing, operations, and service delivery, to ensure a seamless and successful transition process


A day in the life of a IT Service Management Manager

Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, deliverables, dependencies, and timelines and effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, maintaining trust and confidence throughout the project delivery cycle.  Apply best practice project management standards and processes and enforce project delivery quality assurance processes in adherence to Delivery Framework and standards, actively participating in stage-gate reviews and go/no-go decisions Identify and mitigate Service Transition risks, proactively addressing issues to minimize potential impacts on portfolio and project timelines and deliverables.  Oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling of IT Service Transition projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and the achievement of project goals and benefits.  Providing reporting to Senior Managers regarding the risks/issues for individual Service Transition engagements  Report on the success of the practice and identified opportunities for improvement for Senior Leadership sponsorship  Working collaboratively with Business Stakeholders and Operational Stakeholders to ensure successful transition to BAU Operations.  Proactively manage operational IT Service Transition engagements in line with Business outcomes, ensuring IT deliver value back to Business  Produce regular reports with a focus on service improvement to guide business and IT on risk  Responsible for the IT Service Transition Lifecycle, including guiding EGL stakeholders through the process to ensure successful transition of IT Services into BAU Support.  Key Business Partner (Internal and External)

Technical 

Expert level understanding of IT Service Management frameworks and IT Operations  Technical familiarity with Enterprise and Retail systems would be an advantage  Tertiary qualifications in IT or a related discipline will be highly regarded  A minimum of 5 years' experience in IT Service Transition or Project management  Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies, process and tools  Strong planning & prioritisation skills.  Strong understanding of Agile & Lean delivery principals.  People management and leadership, particularly managing people without direct authority  Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously  Excellent written and verbal communication skills  Strong negotiation skills  Experience in liaising with external service providers to deliver agreed outcomes

What you’ll need to succeed

ITIL V3  ITIL4 MP  Experience in leading Service management frameworks (ITIL, AgileSM, VeriSM)  Worked within a similar sized enterprise in a business/customer facing role  IT Operational experience  Strong relationship management.

Desirable

Certification in Project management methodologies.  Previous experience within Service integrator/vendor space.
