The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Welding Technician to join our Networks team in Kidman Park SA, on a Permanent full-time basis.

Reporting to the Supervisor Fabrication, you will be responsible for welding construction, maintenance and fabrication in compliance with Australian Standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completing welding construction and fabrication in compliance with Australian Standards
  • Maintaining weld and material traceability on transmission pipeline and station projects
  • Performing hydraulic and pneumatic pressure testing on fabricated equipment
  • Safely and efficiently installing metering facilities according to relevant standards and APA Group procedure
  • Liaising and communicating effectively with other departments and customers to coordinate the installation of metering equipment

Your background

  • Trade qualification and quality experience in welding and fabrication
  • Proficiency in Tungsten Inert Gas and Manual Metal Arc Welding to pressure pipe standard
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings for construction
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team and a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong focus on safety and standards

Networks manages and operates transmission pipelines and local distribution networks that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.
