Anglo American Steelmaking Coal
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.  In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.

Job Description

As part of the Outbye Trades Department, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Safety mindset of ensuring hazard identification and rectification processes undertaken.
  • Proven track record of working in underground coal mine environment.
  • Skilled in undertaking fault finding, servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance and repairing of underground equipment such as conveyors, pumping systems & water management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team to deliver against set targets.
  • Experience delivering best practice mechanical maintenance and contribute to the development of continuous improvement ideas.

Qualifications

  • Recognised Mechanical Trade Qualifications.
  • At least three years underground coal mining experience working on underground equipment.
  • Coal clearance experience desirable
  • Previous experience within Oubtye areas of a mine

Additional Information

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Employed under the Moranbah North Enterprise Agreement.
  • 5/4/4/5 Lifestyle roster; being an even time roster of day/night, 12 hour shifts.
