Position OverviewThe Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport (ALMT) Program is responsible for the Bureau's business relationships with service delivery partners, government stakeholders, and both domestic and international customers operating in the Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport sectors. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Bureau is seeking an experienced individual to direct risk and compliance activities across the Program supporting ALMT. The role will be responsible for ensuring ALMT has the appropriate processes in place to deliver against its agreed services and meet its core requirements. This will include a core focus on the continued delivery of Aviation Meteorological Services' (AMS's) ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification and ensuring the Program takes a risk-based approach to its delivery.
The key duties of the position include:- Ensure ALMT has the appropriate capability to meet its regulatory compliance requirements.
- Lead the ongoing development, implementation, and continual improvement of the Program's Quality Management System to achieve business outcomes, and maintain ongoing certification of compliance against the ISO 9001 Standard.
- Oversee and provide recommendations to improve ALMT's Business Continuity and Risk Management activities.
- Lead and coordinate the Program's engagement with the Meteorological Authority.
- Lead and manage the monitoring of ALMT's key performance indicators.
- Support the coordination of Program planning activities, including the preparation of medium and long-term plans. Lead the coordination of the Program's responses into enterprise planning and delivery.
- Participate in the preparation of reports, correspondence, and conference briefs relevant to the work of the Program.
- Comply with all Bureau work, health and safety policies and procedures, and take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct. Demonstrate commitment to the APS Values, Employment Principles, and Code of Conduct.
A degree or diploma from an Australian educational institution, or a comparable overseas qualification, which is appropriate to the duties; OR other comparable qualifications, which are appropriate to the duties.
