Job Description

The Finance Business Partner plays a critical role in supporting the finance team and driving business performance across Ricardo plc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting Analyst (50%):
    • Develop, enhance, and maintain the global reporting suite for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business needs.
    • Prepare and distribute monthly dashboard emails and MS Teams updates, providing concise key performance metrics overviews.
    • Manage Group Performance Pack preparation, ensuring timeliness and clarity of insights for senior stakeholders.
    • Coordinate Group forecast process, including model development, timeline management, and regional input consolidation.
    • Support annual budgeting process, developing models and ensuring clear communication of timelines and deliverables.
    • Prepare and maintain Global Orderbook and Pipeline Phasing reports for forward revenue and resource planning visibility.
    • Identify and communicate key trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to drive performance improvements.
    • Analyse and explain material variances, unusual transactions, or misclassifications, recommending corrective actions where required.
  • Business Partnering (50%):
    • Partner with regional stakeholders to update forecasts and explain changes from previous forecasts or budgets.
    • Provide commercial support for tenders and contracts, including first-pass financial reviews, red flag identification, and key terms and conditions review.
    • Lead Results Analysis process, ensuring timely delivery in line with monthly timetable, and coordinating follow-up on risks, opportunities, and agreed actions.
    • Support strategic decision-making by providing clear, concise financial insight and challenge, focused on driving business performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Part-qualified or qualified accountant (CPA or CA).
  • 5+ years' experience in a financial analysis or reporting role.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; Power Query and SAP experience preferred.
