About the role

This is a full-time Civil Construction Operator role based in Morisset, NSW with Gunther Civil Pty Ltd, a leading construction company. As a Civil Construction Operator, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of civil construction projects by operating and maintaining a range of heavy plant and machinery.

What you'll be doing

  • Safely and efficiently operate a range of heavy plant and machinery, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and other machines to complete civil construction tasks

  • Conduct daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards

  • Follow site plans and instructions to complete construction tasks to a high standard

  • Collaborate with the wider construction team to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification

  • Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations on site

  • Working on Gunther Civil sites around Lake Macquarie, Hunter Valley and Newcastle areas generally

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Civil Construction Operator or similar role in the construction industry

  • Proficient in the operation of a range of heavy plant and machinery, including excavators, skidsteer, dozer, and loaders etc

  • Ideally hold a valid Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's licence and relevant plant operator tickets, however C class Licence considered. Upgrade to HR is a potential if able.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to travel to sites outside of local area on FIFO or DIDO basis from time to time is desireable although not always required
