This is a temporary 12 month contract role. This role requires NV1 Clearance.
Requirements
What you'll do:
Conduct real-time monitoring of security alerts and incidents to ensure swift identification and resolution of potential threats. Collect cyber security related data for analysis, evaluation, and identification of the root of the attacks against the client's ICT environment. Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to evaluate the strength of our network defences and propose appropriate remediation plans. Analyse security incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement measures to prevent recurrence. Collaborate with the IT team to configure and fine-tune security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-malware software. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on security procedures, guidelines, and incident response plans. Stay up-to-date with the latest cyber security trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance our security posture. Conduct security awareness training sessions for team members to foster a security-conscious culture.
What you'll bring:
Extensive experience conducting security risk assessments covering Azure Cloud, Legacy ICT systems and applications within a Governance Risk and Compliance role. Familiarity with the Australian Government Information Security Manual. Knowledge of network protocols, security architectures, and information security frameworks. Experience in reviewing and providing guidance on application and system designs relating to PSPF, ISM and Essential Eight. Familiarity with security tools and technologies, such as Sentinel or a similar SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus software, and endpoint protection. Ideally experience in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and respond quickly to security incidents. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Presenting risk assessments and findings to a senior executive audience. Relevant certifications are beneficial (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)).
